How do we connect with each other?…
Since we consider “church” to be virtually anything that people normally do together; from watching a ball game together, visiting a friend’s mother who is sick, helping to repair someone’s garage that may have gotten damaged in a storm, having a barbecue on someone’s patio, or taking in someone who became homeless until we are able to help them find some more suitable living arrangements. We also do things out in the community and share with each other online. Read more here: How Do We Connect?
Valid similar examples from historical records…
In the Book of Acts, Chapter Two one can see a community very much like what we are trying to develop where the very first “church” was structured very much like how we attempt to do “church.” (See Acts 2:45-47). Read more here: Valid Similar Examples
We are not trying to say, “Our way is better”…
We are not against other forms of churches. We simply are trying to live our spiritual lives together with people who are looking for a different way to approach the idea of “church.” So, we affirm the right of any one to choose whatever works best for them. We are just a starting place…
Spiritual experiences and faith are personal things. We believe that each person always creates their own “catechism of beliefs” and then those beliefs are ever changing as they are “lived out” in our daily lives. This has always been the case even among “churches” who work so hard to define everything for all of their members. So we consider our attempts at building a “spiritual community” together as simply a starting place. We have not thought of every good idea and we certainly don’t have all of the answers. In fact if you don’t find something you like with those expressions we are already attempting to do, then we’ll actually help you build your own ideas. We are seriously looking forward to the day when someone asks us to help them build a “Sky Diver’s Church” where their participants actually “meet” with each other in the air. That is somewhat of a less likely prospect, at least for some of our current people to join, but we wouldn’t say that it can’t be done. That’s just who we are.
